Our firefighting units were involved in extinguishing the fire at a food warehouse
According to Interfax, the tenants were liable for the fire which broke out at the food warehouse in the Sverdlovsk region. Originally the area affected by the fire covered 300 sq. m and did not go beyond the rented premises. Rescuers arrived to a scene right after receiving the information on the signaller's control panel. However the space was overloaded with goods, most of which were flammable, and firefighters failed to cope with the situation quickly.
When the fire engulfed an area of 1000 sq m the authorities deployed extra forces to fight the fire. There were no problems with water supply. Rescue services reported that it was drawn from the hydrants located at a distance of 300 meters from the ignition point. In total, more than 70 people and almost 30 units of equipment took part in extinguishing. Our ANR-100-2000 were also involved in the operation.
Due to the potential risk of the fire spreading to the nearby buildings, experts of the Ministry of Emergency Situations assessed of the situation from the air using a drone. Thanks to the precise and coordinated actions of the rescue service specialists, as well as the excellent performance of our vehicles and equipment, they managed to prevent the fire from spreading to an adjacent building. After the putting out the fire, the specialists watered the premises. It was not possible to get into some buildings, so they used oxygen petrol cutting torches in order to access them. According to the report EMERCOM Directorate General, the total area affected by fire covered 1200 sq. m. There were no dead or injured in the fire. All people working in the hangar were able to leave the hazardous area on their own.
